Security guard from Bihar arrested for kidnapping 1-year-old girl from Maharashtra’s Palghar

A one-year-old girl who was abducted from Maharashtra's Palghar on February 15 was rescued from Bihar and was reunited with her parents on Wednesday.

The security guard was arrested for kidnapping the girl and taking her to his hometown in Bihar's Bhagalpur district.

A week after Sumendrakumar Sukaldas Mandal, who often played with the child, kidnapped a one-year-old girl, the police managed to trace the accused.

On February 15, he took the child for a walk around the neighborhood and did not return. The parents have lodged a complaint with the Acola police, the official said.

The child was rescued from Bihar on Tuesday and handed over to her parents on Wednesday. The probe is ongoing.
